Contained in these pages is a wealth of information which should be extremely useful to many genealogy researchers interested in Columbia County, Arkansas.  The headstone transcriptions for 141 Columbia cemeteries are included, possibly all currently known to exist in the county.

My source for this data was a CD received from a fellow researcher.   This CD represents an amazing amount of work, done apparently by volunteers solely for the benefit of genealogy research in Columbia County, and the contributors are to be highly commended for this massive effort.  As one who has personally surveyed a few cemeteries in the past, I can state that it is not an easy task, especially in the heat of an Arkansas summer.

Notes on the CD files indicate that the cemetery data was gathered at the sites during 2001 and 2002, primarily by two individuals: Marcia Chapman and Doris Fletcher.  The data for a few cemeteries were credited to Chester Bullock.   These individuals (and possibly others unnamed) receive full credit for this information.  I claim none for myself.  

The data was originally in Excel spreadsheet files, which I formatted into web pages compatabile with my site.   I did not edit the content, and cannot vouch for its accuracy or completeness.  Search for a name using the alphabetical name index of persons buried, which includes links to the applicable cemetery pages.  You can also browse the individual cemetery pages below.
