About John Ferguson:
John Ferguson moved his family from Virginia to Missouri around 1823. A John Ferguson, Sr. family was
found in 1830 Census, MO, Montgomery Co., Lower Loutre TS, p. 206, img. 3., which is probably the subject
John Ferguson. The ages of the family members are a close match. The census showed that John owned
one female slave, aged 10 to 23.
Sometime in the early 1830's, John moved to Gasconade Co. Osage
Co. was formed from Gasconade Co. in 1841.
