About John Bush Robins:
John Robins was a farmer and also had a grocery store near his home. He and his wife belonged to the
Zion Church. He was licensed to preach in 1864 and was ordained in 1866, and became the first regular
paster of Zion Church. He represented his county in the legislature in 1860 and again in 1880. While
still in Georgia he served as Justice of the Peace for several years. He was in the Mexican War and
was a soldier in the Confederate Army under Colonel McNeir during the later part of the war. His father,
Williams Robins came from England when a young man along with several brothers and settled and spent
the rest of their lives in Georgia.
