This is my dad R. C. Hardy, James Eley, my grandmother Addie Hardy, and my grandfather H. H. Hardy, taken at my grandparents home near Longview, TX in July 1947.  James was my dad’s nephew, the son of his sister Johnnie Hardy Eley.  He joined the Navy very young and served 8-9 years total, including during WWII and the Korean War, in two separate hitches.  You can see the oil derrick and pump engine house in the background, and also the fence for the chicken yard beside it.
