About Edward Harriss:

Edward lived and was married in Charlotte Co., Virginia to Mary Johnson, a sister to Miniard's wife. These Harriss families migrated into Wilkes Co. and Burke Co. NC by 1778. Edward Harriss is said to have lived for a time in Buncombe Co. NC, and also migrated to SC about 1795. He and his brothers Miniard and David fought in the Revolutionary War.

An Edward Harris was found in the 1800 Census, SC, Laurens Co., p. 16, img. 7. Living very close to a Harris Gilliam and a Johnson Harris. It showed one male over 45 years old (living alone), which would be correct for this Edward Harriss.
