While serving in England in separate units prior to the D-Day invasion, two of my uncles met in England for this photo.  Uncle Denver Hardy, left, my dadís younger brother, went on to fight in France and Germany as an infantryman in the Third Armored Division.  Uncle L. W. (Chip) Ferguson, right, my mother's younger brother, served in a Headquarters Company.  This was taken in Sheffield, England.  Denver returned from the war and worked for Humble Oil Co. for many years before retiring.  Chip worked for Illinois Central Railroad in Shreveport, LA before his retirement.
