Claiborne Elementary, 1947-48, my first grade class, Mrs. Hatfield was the teacher. I'm the boy in the first row with the bruises and black eyes. I had fallen and hit my head just a few days before the picture was taken. I can identify a few of my classmates, and many in this picture I continued to share classes with all the way through Fair Park High School. Those two pretty girls on the second row directly behind me are (L to R), Lucille Bradford and Charlotte Smith. They were still pretty and popular in high school. I believe the boy on the third row, third from left is Dick Lindsey, and the last boy on the right on the third row is Paul Draper. I knew both of these boys through FPHS. Many more faces are familiar, but can't come up with names.
