The following from Lisa Slighton:
"On 29 Aug 1898 (according to postmaster records
at the national archives) John became Postmaster of Noble, IL when it was reported that he told McKinley
(while on election tour) that he wanted the position. He served for 5 years. On 20 Aug 1906 (according
to US land Patent records) John Foll Jr. bought two parcels of land in Stone Co., AR. His son Edwin
was the only one of his children to accompany him to AR on this adventure. I don't know exactly how
long John was there but Edwin, as you know stayed. Some time before 1917 John and Fanny returned to
Richland Co. IL as Fanny died there 17 August 1917 of cancer of the uterus. They may have returned because
she was sick."
